Abstract
In recent years, with the development of portable and flexible electronic devices, attention to flexible and lightweight energy storage systems with high power density has been increased. One of the most interesting energy storage systems is flexible supercapacitors. Hydrogel electrolytes are greatly considered as one of the main components of these systems[1, 2]. Meanwhile, flexible self-healing hydrogels play an essential role in the design of flexible supercapacitors[3, 4]. In this work, a hydrogel electrolyte based on hydroxy-acrylate and vinyl-imidazolium was prepared, which has the ability to self-heal and Faraday reactions. The synthesized hydrogel was investigated as an electrolyte and separator with ionic conductivity 23.88 mScm-1 in a supercapacitor and revealed a specific capacitance of 50.94 Fg-1 at a scan rate of 5 mV s-1. The results of the mechanical and electrochemical investigations of the synthesized hydrogel indicate that the synthesized hydrogel electrolyte can be considered as a good candidate for use in flexible energy storage systems, including supercapacitors.
