Abstract
In this study, considering the principles and goals of green chemistry, gold nanoparticles were synthesized using red apple peel extract as a biological source of synthesis, without the use of reducing and stabilizing chemical agents. The effects of various factors such as time, temperature, different concentrations of gold salt, and different concentrations of red apple peel extract were evaluated. The existence of gold nanoparticles synthesized by red apple peel extract was investigated using different analyses such as ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed that gold nanoparticles prepared using red apple peel extract have a size in the range of 13 to 20 nm, spherical morphology, suitable dispersion, and are stable for a long time. This method can be proposed as a suitable biological method and an alternative to chemical and physical methods for producing gold nanoparticles.
