The Suzuki coupling reaction as an effective method, has found numerous applications in the development of the pharmaceutical industry. In this study a simple and efficient method for carbon-carbon bond formation reaction using a heterogeneous palladium nano catalyst supported on graphitic carbon nitride (Pd/g-C3N4) without the use of ligands was employed with phenylboronic acid and various aryl haledes in an aqueous environment. All reaction was carried out under optimal conditions in a water/ethanol solvent at 80 C, and in the presence of 0.02 g of catalyst with good to excellent yields. This method can effectively be used for a range of active and inactive aryl haledes. Pd/g-C3N4 not only exhibited high catalytic performance but can also be recovered four times. The Pd/g-C3N4 was characterized using some different techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma (ICP) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET).
